My problem with monthly favourites is that i don't change up enough of my make up on a regular basis so i would just end up writing about the same things every month. The only products i frequently change are my eye shadows and lipsticks and i can form an opinion on new ones pretty quickly but no one wants an entire favourites post just about lipstick. Well i might but i'm not the one reading my blog. Anything else i always feel like i need a bit of time to see how it works so i wouldn't want to say a product is my favourite before i've really given it a test run. Monthly favourites used to be some of my favourite videos to watch but so many people do them all at the same time i get fed up of seeing them. Also as so many bloggers receive PR a lot of them feature the same products. If you don't like this post please let me know and this will be the last one you see but as i had some products i loved i wanted to share them with you.
The next favourite of this month was a limited edition launch last year. I loved it at the time but during Winter it made its was to the back of my perfume draw. It is Jo Malone London's Nashi Blossom. Pretty much every year Jo Malone London launch a limited edition blossom scent for Spring/Summer and i always love them. I had two from the previous years collection; Sakura Cherry Blossom and Osmanthus Blossom whilst Nashi Blossom was last years offering. I originally bought the 30ml but after using over half the bottle within a month i had to go back to buy the 100ml. The scent is quite playful which you can tell just by looking at the packaging. I mean you know it is a Jo Malone London bottle but i love the addition of the almost pop art dots and the green lid. Jo Malone London really did a good job of making the packaging reflect the scent.
Towards the end of March, Bristol has seen the smallest bit of sunshine which has made it slightly warmer, as if we are moving into Spring. I say this and now but it will rain every day next week. As it is that little bit warmer, my light floral perfumes have made their way to my dresser. Out of the ones which have made their way to my dresser, Nashi Blossom is the one which i have reached for the most. It is a beautiful blend of fruity and soft floral notes. This fragrance is very light, dewy and sparkling. The top note being Lemon and Nashi Pear, the floral heart being embodied within the eponymous Nashi Blossom and White Musk amplifies all the notes above it from the base note. This fragrance is very crisp and clean with an element of fizz built in. It has a similar effect as Jo Malone London's English Pear and Fressia but it is slightly lighter and not so dominated by the floral part of the fragrance. Unfortunately this is no longer available and hasn't been for a while but this is the time of year that they launch blossom scents so i look forward to seeing this years offering.
From something old to something new, to me anyway. In my birthday Sephora Haul i ordered the Sephora Favourites: Give Me Some Nude Lip Set and i have fallen for one of the lipsticks in it. At first i thought this would be the one i wouldn't like but i have ended up loving it and it is the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993. Firstly I instantly felt an affinity to this lipstick as 1993 is the year that i was born so this lipstick automatically made me very happy. I have tried the Urban Decay lipsticks before and i wasn't too fussed but this one is the perfect lipstick to throw on in the mornings on the way to work and i know i don't need to worry about how it looks. The shade itself is a rich brown and i would say it is quite a true brown with a slight hint of rose.
In terms of the formula of this lipstick is described as a comfort matte and i completely agree with the comfort part of the description. It feels very light on the lips, you know you're wearing a lipstick but it doesn't dry down. However i wouldn't agree that it is completely matte. It has a light sheen but as it isn't drying on the lips i guess this is to be expected. This lipstick is created with a blend of different butters which makes it super soft on the lips. As well as a butter blend it also has Aloe Vera, Jojoba oil, Avocado oil, Babassu oil all of these keep it very soft and keep your lips hydrated. I have been loving this because it is quite a deep shade without being too dark whilst being more bold than your average nude shade. If you saw my post on Friday about my current make up look you might have seen i have been wearing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood a lot. Well when i'm not wearing that, i am wearing 1993.
One product from my current make up look that i would class as a favourite this month would be the Tarte Tease palette. I have been wearing this everyday this month and i kind of forgot how much i love it. For an easy every day look this palette is ideal, the formula is super blendable and the colours are quite pigmented. For me this palette has the perfect mix of Spring shades and i love to bring this out at this time of year. The shades allow you to define the eye without making the shadow look heavy, which what i like for a daytime look. As i said in My Current Make Up Look I have been using the shade Whisper as a transition shade, Heartbreaker in the crease, blended out quite a lot with a little bit of bff in the outer corner to deepen the look. I then apply either Crush or First Kiss all over the lid depending on how much glitter i want to use that day. I cannot recommend Tarte eye shadows enough and this palette is a great place to start.
My final favourite this month is actually a piece of skincare. For the past few years i have used the same products and the same routine, which isn't necessarily a good thing. When you use the same skincare your skin get used to it and it no longer has the same effect it originally had. As of late i have been attempting to shake up my skincare and i started using the Pixi Glow Tonic as i haven't used a toner regularly before. After a week of using this i noticed a positive change in my skin. It had less texture and it had helped to clear my spots. I had a massive breakout from another product i was using and this helped to restore my skin as it contains Witch Hazel which is known to soothe spots. Before using this i never understood the point of a toner but now i get why the hype around this product is real. I did write a full review on this where i went into greater detail about it so take a look if you have always been intrigued by the Glow Tonic.
I feel like my favourites have probably been pretty obvious as some of these i have been raving about all month. If you liked this post please let me know, i don't know if it is worth continuing doing monthly favourites or have they become redundant? Any reviews i've written about these products will be linked below if you want a more in-depth review, enjoy!
